I got my ears pierced!

I got my ears pierced!

Yesterday I got my ears pierced. A long time ago Mommy asked me if I wanted to get them done and I said no, no, no. Now since my grandma and my tio are away on vacation I got them pierced. The earrings are pink daisies with white centers. It sometimes looks blue in the center when you look at it. I was nervous to get it done because my friend Katie said it hurt a little bit. It did hurt but I didn't cry!

Sunday in Sonora

Today I went to Sonora to see a Christmas Craft Festival. The first thing I did was get a soft pretzel with parmesan cheese. It was good and cheesy- oh yeah! We looked at all the exhibits. My mom and I looked for Hanukkah stuff. The closest thing we got to Hanukkah was a stained glass hanging of a Star of David. I got my face painted like a combination of a Snow Queen, Fairy Princess and Flower Fairy. After that we walked around Sonora and then finally found a restaurant that was open and ate there. It was called El Jardín. As soon as we came home my mom made me take a shower and wash off my face.

Yesterday I planted an avocado tree with my Uncle Alan. Grandmother started it with me from an avocado seed. We planted it in a jar with water and then it grew. Now it is in my backyard.

Monday Night

Tonight I went to a Thanksgiving service at my Grandmother Baker's church. People were there from different religions. After the service there was an oneg. An oneg is where you can eat and talk to friends.

After the oneg we went to my Tio Ruben's house. We saw Scott. Scott is my Tio's friend. We saw Jesse too. He is my Tio's other friend. Scott and I played a game called Foosball. I tried to win but Scott won. If I had more time I might have won but I had to go home and go to bed! Maybe I can play Scott again. The next time, we will go to McDOnald's and play air hockey. Air hockey is easy - I will win!

Tarea

Estoy haciendo tarea que no hice en la escuela porque estoy enferma. No fui a la escuela hoy o ayer. Voy a la oficina del doctor hoy en la noche para ver si estoy mejorando. Espero que estoy mejorando. Quiero regresar a la escuela mañana.

Pasé el día con mi bis abuela. Jugabamos Skip-Bo, Scrabble y vimos la pelicula Cinderella.

Fever

I went to the doctor today. I have a fever of 102.8. I have to take some medicine. It tastes nasty! He also said that I can't go to school tomorrow and I may go trick or treating but only to a few houses.

Plum Princess

I am going to a Bat Mitzvah party tonight for Sadie and Naomi. It is a Halloween party so you have to dress up. I am a Plum Princess. I am also going to be a Plum Princess for Halloween. I like my dress. It feels fancy.

Red Ribbon Week

We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week at my school this week. The police came to our school with a dog to show us that drugs are bad. The dog sniffed backpacks. One of them was filled with drugs. If the dog showed interest in one it meant that it had drugs in it. The dog found the backpack that had drugs. Drugs can explode your brain.

This week we get to do something different every day to remember how bad drugs are and how much fun it is when you don't take drugs.

School Picture

I got my school pictures today. My Tía Ñeca made the shirt for me. She lives in Panamá. My mom told her how she wanted the shirt and my Tía made it. She didn't even need a pattern.

Carving Pumpkins

Today we carved pumpkins.

They are my crazy new pumpkin friends. The silliest one is called "Purr"-PLexed. It means confused. It is a kitty - get it "purr" plexed!

The next crazy friend is Loco Pumpkin. Loco Pumpkin has a missing tooth - like me

Pumpkin Patch and Sunday School

I went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday with my Bubbe and my Mommy. We had lots of fun. We went in a corn maze. We almost got lost! I got to take a pony ride too. After that we went home and rested and then we went to Arnav's birthday party. We went to GymStars for the party. I go there for gymnastics class onMonday nights. We did lots of stuff.

Today we had a Sukkah party int he Sukkah for Sukkot at the synagogue. First we had Sunday School and then we went in the Sukkah and shook the lulav and the etrog. After that we got to make sukkahs that we could eat. We made them out of graham crackers, peanut butter, pretzels and candy. It was fun. I got lots of peanut butter on my clothes too. This afternoon my mommy and I are going to carve some pumpkins.

International Festival

Today was the International Festival. I got to see my friend Odalys Perform with her dad's group Vission Latina. She is good. People wanted to buy CD's with her playing the piano.

I also got to see the Panamanian Dancers perform. They are good dancers. They said I can come and learn how to dance with them sometime. They came to my Tio Ruben's house to eat after they danced at the park.

My Journal

Today I found my old, old journal. It is from 2002 and 2003. I didn't write in it a lot. I have about 10 journal entires. My mom wrote them for me on the computer and I traced over them with a marker. I asked my mom if she would put them on my blog so I can have them forever and ever. Maybe more people will read my blog if more if I have more journal entries too. Here is a pitcture of me when I was little and wrote in my old, old journal:

Fui Al Parque Hoy

Fui al parque hoy con mi amiga Odalys y su hermano Osmany. Comimos y jugabamos ahí. Traje mi scooter y Odalys trajo su helicoptero nuevo. Osmany trajo sus Lego's y una pelota de tennis. Si me porto bien este fin de semana Odalys y yo vamos a ir juntos a mi clase de gimnastica el lunes.

I lost a Tooth

The tooth fairy came last night. I was kind of worried because I didn't sleep in my bed all night long. I slept in my bed and then I went to my mommy's bed. The Tooth fairy came anyway to my bed. I got a letter, a certificate and $5! My mommy said that she is not the Tooth Fairy but I don't believe her.

Today is a Lucky Night

Hi people who are reading my blog. Today is a lucky night. I lost my tooth. I lost my very first tooth! I was watching tv and I felt something wiggly. Then it came out. I am getting a note ready for the tooth fairy. I want to take a picture and post it.

Sunday School

Today is the first day of Sunday School. What I like about Sunday School is that my teacher is nice and that my mom teaches there. I can go into her room before school each week and help her set up. My haircut

This is a picture of me with my new haircut. I got my hair cut 2 inches shorter than it was.

Second Grade

I like second grade because it is the grade my mama teaches. Second grade is a little hard but sometimes we take repasos de primer grado which are remembering first grade work, like tests. In second grade we come in and sit at our desks. Then we have to sit on the carpet so the teacher can read a book to us. We just finished reading Crisántemo which is Chrysanthemum in English. We are going to read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse on Monday. After reading time we go to lunch. Then we have recess. When we come in we do matemáticas. Then we do educación física with different teachers each day. After that we go to English class. We do calendario at the end of the day. Then I go to the after school program to do my homework.

I got a hair cut

I am sorry I couldn't post before. We get busy sometimes. I am busy with school and afterschool program and homework and gymnastics.
Yesterday I went to speech for the first time. The speech teacher told me to practice the ts sound like bats. There are other words that have ts too like rats, mats, bats, cats. I can make up words too like plats, prats, mlats, strats and more like that.
Yesterday morning my mom had a meeting so my tio Ruben got to take me to school. My uncle Ruben got me a surprise. He got Mc Donalds for breakfast. I got hot cakes. We ate with his roommate Jesse. Jesse told me about his son Little Jesse. Then I went to school.
After school I went to the after school program and then I started to do my homework but then my mom picked me up for a hair cut. My hair is short now. I will get a picture and show you sometime.

Big Days

My birthday is in a few days. I am going to have a party at my tio's house on Saturday. I start school on Monday and my real birthday is on Tuesday. I will be seven. I also have my very first loose tooth.

Penguins

Today I got to go to the Farmer's Market. Then we went to the YMCA. Mommy did Body Pump. (She says the push ups kill her) I went to Tot Watch and got to be with my favorite person who takes care of the kids there. Then we went to go see March of the Penguins. It was fun. Mommy went online to the March of the Penguins site. She wants to buy the CD to the music of the movie. You should go to the March of the Penguins website. They have good stuff. You can watch some parts of the movie and there is a kid's arcade. Bubbe is going to make fried chicken for us to eat when we go to San Francisco tomorrow. I am going to go to Tio Ruben's house .Bye.

Go Pigs!

I went to the Fair to see the pig races with my friends yesterday. We went to the Stanislaus County Fair. The pigs were cute. When the pigs won they got an oreo cookie. If your pig won and you were a cheerleader for the pigs, you got a big, fat, pig nose. I have one!

My Trip

Hi people who are reading my blog. We went on a trip to Monterey. We stayed at the Colton Inn. In Monterey we ate at Turtle Bay and we watched the seals and looked for sea otters. We went to Carmel too. In Carmel we had to walk 5 blocks up a hill. Mommy said not to complain but my feet were killing me. I got to get wet in the ocean when we went on the 17 mile drive.

Party

My mommy had a party yesterday. It was at my Tio's house. It was fun. We played and ate lots of food. A lot of my friends were there. My mom got Bertie Bott's every flavor bean. They are from the story of Harry Potter. The flavors in the box were vomit, earthworm, grass, rotten egg, dirt, bacon and soap. We didn't eat too many of them.

I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Saturday. I really wanted to see Herbie Fully Loaded though. Charlie and the Chocolate was good. I liked the part when Charlie got to stay at the factory.

Spanish and English

Spanish:
Ayer fue el cumpleaños de mi mamá. Era muy bueno. Fuimos a comer en el restaurante La Morenita.

I made a handmade card for my mom's birthday. I also made scones with my Bubbe for my mom's breakfast.

Sabi's Place

This morning we went to the Farmer's Market. We bought stuff. We got corn, Smoked Gouda Cheese, a croissant and some bread that I can't remember the name of. It is like ciabatta. I think it is called sciattata.

After that we went to Target to buy a present for my friend Arial. Then we went to her party. Her party had a bouncy thing that you climb up stairs and then slide down a little slide to go into a big pool. You can slide frontwards, backwards, sideways and any way. We ate pizza and had punch. We left early because Tio Ruben came over. We went to Mimi's to eat lunch. After that we came home and I played on the computer and read. Today I started reading How to Eat Fried Worms. I love it. So far, Billy ate seven worms!

Tonight I made a restaurant called Sabi's Place. I made menus. I was the waitress and the chef. I made Rachel Ray style Chicken Toes, Salad, Corn, Rice and Brownies. I even sent my Uncle home with a doggie bag filled with chicken. I got paid some tips for the dinner. The first tip was that the service was excellent. The second tip was that he liked the food. The next tip was to not touch the food with my fingers when I put it in a doggie bag. The last tip was money!!!

Tomorrow I am going to go to IKEA with Miriam, Odalys, Osmany and my mommy.

My Day

Hello again. How is your day going? This is what I did today so far. I went to Starbucks and got a hot chocolate and my mom got a coffee. Then we went to Mc Donalds and I got a number 1. That is an egg Mc Muffin with hash browns and orange juice. I have to order it differently though. I only get it with cheese because I don't like the bacon or the egg.

Then we went to my mom's school. I helped her to put her curtains up in the room. After that I played with the Silly Sentences game. Then it was time for music class. At music class we sang Amelia Bedelia, The Troll Song, Engine Number 9 and The Three Little Pigs. We got to play outside for our break.

Now I am back at my class. We are going to work some more and then we will go to the synagogue to work over there.

Happy Fourth of July!

Today is the Fourth of July. We started the day watching the movie National Treasure. I loved it. I liked the part where they found the treasure and Ian got arrested. It was adventurous, cool and a two thumbs up movie! I also watched an Arthur movie that we rented.
Later we went to Lisie's mom and dad's house. I got to swim at her house. It was fun and excellent. They are remodeling their house. My tio Ruben came by to say hi when we were there. Lisie's Uncle Frankie was there too.
We had to put the cat in the garage because he might run away because the fireworks are so noisy. It isn't even dark and there are explosions all over! I am going to stay up late and watch fireworks in my house outside of my mommy's window. I could go to the park but I don't want to face my fears today. Maybe next year I will go see them outside of the house.

Fu-Fu

My new camel is going to be called Fu-Fu. Fu means lucky in Chinese. Fu-Fu is also Sagwa's friend on the show on PBS kids called Sagwa. My kitty is called Sagwa. I am also calling him Fu-Fu because I am lucky because I get a new camel! It isn't really a real animal though!

My Tio Aaron got me a camel in Egypt. He is seeing lots of things in Egypt now. When tio comes back I can keep him. Look at what he is doing with Tio Aaron. I wonder if he will like my kitty Sagwa? I wonder if Sagwa will like my camel?

I am sorry I haven't been posting. I have been helping my mom move into another classroom and I have been reading some Amber Brown books. The two books I read were Amber Brown Sees Red and Amber Brown Wants Extra Credit is the other one. Oh. I also read Amber Brown is Not a Crayon.

Yesterday I went to music class again. We sand the Amelia Bedelia song again. We read the Little Engine that Could and then we sang "If I Think I Can."

My Aunt Margie and my Uncle Alan visited us for a few days. We played Countdown together and we played with my cat. I played the violin for them too.

We might be going to San Francisco this weekend. I want to see my mom's friend Lisie. She lives in San Francisco. I want to go to the zoo.

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Yesterday I got to go to the front of my mom's school during an assembly to get an award. I got an award for being a helper for the Principal at my mom's school on my off track time. I was nervous when I went up but it was cool too.

Today was my mom's last day of school. We had a pizza party. I also went to my music class with Ms. Kathleen. It was good. I liked the Amelia Bedelia Song. I couldn't get it out of my head!

Just Like Rachel Ray

Hello!
I cooked like Rachel Ray today. My mom and I made chicken toes and brownies. We also ate some grapes and sugar snap peas. I used my Rachel Ray cookbook for the recipe.

Today we listened to Juanes. I like that CD. My favorite song is number 6. It is called No Siento Penas.

My Bubbe left the house to go to Davis to work for school. My mom and I are going stay alone in the house and have a party by ourselves.

I am going to start a music class on Tuesday. I am going to sing and listen to stories. I think we will get to do a play.

Saturday Night

I went to two parties tonight. The first party was a pajama party. The second party was a Bocce Ball party at my tio Ruben's house. At Tio's house I got to play with Cal and Copernicus. We played with Lincoln Logs and played Bocce Ball with oranges. I also got to eat ice cream with Tio. I stayed up really late too. We didn't get home until 11:30. My mom said I could sleep in as long as I want and she will make me whatever I want to eat in the morning.

ALeah's Bat Mitzvah

Today I went to my friend Aleah's Bat Mitzvah. It was very, very long. Aleah read from the Torah in HEBREW! At the end we got to throw candy at her. Afterwards we had lunch at the synagogue. Tonight I am going back to the synagogue in my pajamas! Aleah is having a pajama party.

Today is also my Papa's birthday. He is 59 years old. I called him in Panama today. I miss him.

My aunt Margie and my Uncle Alan are coming to visit me this week. I will have a lot of fun with them.

Hey, me again. I just started to write. 12:00 in the afternoon now. I was sketching and coloring today. I did too sketches. It is a very good day. Are you hungry cause I am? TV DAY

Hello. I didn't do anything but watch tv today. I played in my room. And I startid to write a few minites ago. My mom didn't go to school today becuse she felt sick. Today is Wensday and it is orchistra and priveit violin lesson day! I had a very busy day. I was at my granma’s school for more than too howrs. At her school I slept and helpt.
Orchistra was hard. My teachers name is Mr. Bort. My book that I will be working on is All For Strings. And the other book we bought is Folk and Country Waltzes for Fiddle. We will be practicing that book a lot. Even the other book. But we will work more on All For Strings.
My priveit violin lesson was easy. I sat down and I standed up. I liked sitting down more. We did Long, Long, Ago and some of the variations. We also practiced Hunter’s Chorus.

La Escuela de Mi Mama

Madagascar fue excelente. A mi me gustaba mucho. Ayer vino el Señor Girley al salón de mi mamá. El vino en su ropa de P.E. Durante el día yo fui al salón de la Señorita Cruz. Ella tiene en salón diferente de mi maestra pero hay cosas similares como mi maestra. Yo moví tres veces en cada clase. En la clase de la Señorita Cruz, vimos un video. El video era de la selva tropical. Habia muchos animales como mariposas, mariquitas, ranas, serpientes, monos y mas. La selva tropical tiene cuatros partes. Es bonita la selva tropical.

Last Day of School

¡Hola! Ya terminé primer grado. Me siento muy feliz y triste. Me siento feliz porque ya terminé primer grado. Y me siento triste porque no puedo ver a mis amigos en verano. Vamos a tratar a ir a San Diego e ir al zoológico de San Diego y a Legoland. Hoy voy con mi tio a ver Madagascar.
