My Last Day In Baltimore

Today was my last day in Baltimore, and was amazing! First we went to the aquarium, that has five levels. After that we went to the dolphin show. The dolphins names were Maya and Spirit. They did sooooooooooooooooooooo many tricks. We sat in the seats, called the Splash Zone that the dolphins get wet. We got wet when the dolphins did tricks. After the aquarium, we went to the Visitors Center and got tickets to get on the trolley. Then, we went to a food court and ate lunch. Bubbe got fried chicken and shrimp with noodles and rice. I got fried chicken with mashed potatoes. It was good!! When we were leaving, we passed a fudge place that people were singing at while they work and people looking at how the make fudge. We were going to get one bar, but the lady selling them was giving Bubbe deal after deal. So eventually we ended up buying three. Meanwhile, I was were they were showing us how to make the fudge, and they said they the louder you are the bigger your samples would be. Then we caught the trolley and we were the first ones there! The other two people came later. We went all around Baltimore, Little Italy, Mount Vernon, Fells Point, and some other place whose name I forgot. When we got off the trolley we went on a Water Taxi. That took us to across the water to Fells Point. When we got there, I saw a Maggie Moos. We decided to try it out because I have heard great things about it. My bubbe and I shared a banana split with Choco-Mallo, Fat Free Mango and Banana ice cream. On top there was whipped cream, hot fudge and a cherry. That was delicious!!!!!!! After that we walked and went back to the Inner Harbor. We ate at Phillips express and went to the lightrail to go to Lexington Market. We walked and saw Edger Allen Poe's grave. Then we walked back and took the lightrail to BWI. Bye sabina

Today

Today I went to a Museum and stayed there for three hours! It was soooo much fun!! Would you expect a child to love a museum?? No! Unless you were at the Maryland Historical Society. If you are a kid you get a Passport that takes you around the Museum and you have so much fun!!! Then we went to the Inner Harbor and had lunch (dinner). It was good and then we had a great dessert. Yesterday

Yesterday we rented a car and drove all the way from Maryland to Pennsylvania. We saw my cousins Johnneen and Ranney. They took us to an Amish place where you can take buggy rides and learn about the Amish and Mennonites. We took a buggy ride around Amish country and Molly(our horse) was a stubborn, slow, horse. She was slow even when we were an the road!!!!! But one stop along the way was fun. There was an Amish woman there selling chocolate chip cookies and decorative horseshoes. The cookies were delicious, crunchy where it needs to be and soft where it needs to be. When we finished we went to an Amish restaurant and had lunch. Then we went to a replica of an Amish house and I took lots of pictures. Then we went to Johneen and Ranney's house and ate dinner. After dinner we went outside and saw fireflies. They were better than fireworks. I caught a lot of those and as Johneen says ' She is training them to light up when they leave'. I loved it a lot. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I Did Today

Today I to Washington D.C.. My Bubbe and I went to Washington on the MARC train. When we got off the train we were in Union Station. Union Station is gorgeous. The station has over 87 places to eat. We saw lots of little shops. One shop had all your small travel stuff including Germ-X. Then we went into the Main Hall and bought Old Town Trolley tour tickets. (This trolley lets you get on and off all day long!).After we bought the tickets, we headed outside to wait for the trolley. There was a HUGE line! Everyone was waiting for the same thing, to get on the trolley!!! Eventually we got on the trolley and learned some facts about Washington. Here are some facts about Washington.

  1. 3 main senate offices

  2. 5 primary office buildings on Independence Ave.

  3. the Botanic Gardens has over 8,000 different types of flowers

  4. President Garfield was the only member of the House of Representatives to become president. He is also one of four presidents who were assassinated.

  5. Francis Perkins was the first female official, appointed by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1939. We saw the building named after her.

  6. The Smithsonian Institution opened in 1895. There are 16 museums total in the Smithsonian and one of them, the Air and Space Museum, has an IMAX theater and something dedicated to Einstein.

  7. The Museum of African Art has one story above ground and three underground.

  8. The Castle Building was opened in 1859.

  9. Japanese cherry blossom trees planted in 1940-1950 are the oldest and they border the Tidal Basin.

  10. Three of of Lincoln's kids died before they were teenagers and one didn't.

  11. The Tomb of the Unknown soldier is located in the Arlington Cemetary.

  12. Potomac means "trading place" in a Native American language.

  13. Alexander Graham Bell taught deaf children in Franklin School (we passed it).

  14. The National Geographic has a museum in D.C.

  15. Reece Witherspoon's ancestor, George Witherspoon, has a statue near Franklin School.

  16. The Beatles first gig in the U.S. was in Washington. We went by the Omni Hotel where they had a whole floor.

  17. Baby Ruth candy is named after President Garfield's daughter, Ruth, who was one year old when she died.

  18. The National Cathedral is the second largest cathedral in the world. Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan where buried there. Just below the roof of the Cathedral there are gargoyles, that also serve as a drainage system when it rains. (When it rains, it looks like they are spitting water - or "gargoyling").

  19. There are LOTS of embassies on Embassy Row. (There are also lots of Ben and Jerry's ice cream stores in Washington D.C.)

  20. The highest point in Washington is the National Cathedral. That's partly because it is on a hill. Many rich people in Washington built beautiful mansions on the hill because it was cooler in the summer.

  21. The cream of crab soup at Tony and Joe's (at Washington Harbor) is GREAT.

  22. We went passed the Watergate (it looks like a ship). The Watergate burglars spied on the Democratic Headquarters from a Howard Johnson Hotel across from the Watergate, but now this hotel is part of George Washington University.
When we were in Union Station once more, we went to Ben and Jerry's ice cream. My Bubbe got a mango ice cream that was refreshing. I got a shake with PURE chocolate. It was soooooooooo good.
On the train back we met 3 nice people. We talked with them and had a nice conversation.
One was from Tallahassee, Florida, one of the girls was from Washington and the other from Baltimore. When we got off the train, a guy was being put in an ambulance because he passed out. Then we called our hotel and we were picked up and taken to the hotel. It was a long bur good day. Gotta Go!!!!!!!!!!! Bye

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear people around the world who are reading this post,
Today when we were airborne from Houston to Baltimore I saw lots of things in the clouds. For example, I saw an elephant, a lamb, a clay pot, a dragon breathing out fire, a Santa Claus, a graveyard with skulls, a baby giant in a cradle, and a temple with stairs that looked like layers and in front were guards.
Anyway, now I am at the hotel with my Bubbe, and I watched some television and my bubbe is relaxing. Later on we might go swimming. See You Next Post,
Sabina
